How typical of 18th century voyages to the South Pacific was the Pandoras last voyage?

There are differences. The Pandoras voyage was for punitive reasons to capture the Bounty not for discovery as, for instance, Cooks and Vancouvers voyages! So in the Pandora there were: • rearrangements of space inside the ship, required to accommodate extra stores for the Bounty and extra officers and men carried to crew the Bounty upon her recapture • different composition of crew (more petty officers and midshipmen and able seamen onboard the Pandora), prisoners in “Pandoras Box” • no scientists onboard. But, there are also similarities: • the crews attitudes and behavior towards indigenous peoples • the crews collecting activities • the preparations for the voyage • the Royal Navy was the main organising agency • the crews faced the same problems related to being at sea for a long period.
