How useful is the gradebook?
The Moodle gradebook contain grades given manually to Assignments (both online and offline activities) and to Forum postings between specified dates, and of course also contains grades automatically marked for Quiz, Workshop and Lesson activities. The Assignment activity does allow CSV file import, to assign grades (and comments) in bulk (see previous answer). You can sort the gradebook display by user lastname or firstname, numerically by total points, and any column can be separately displayed and sorted. The columns are comprised of the categories to which you have mapped activities that provide points. Each category can be weighted and curved to determine the final points. Percents can also be displayed, according to what preferences you have established. You can download a gradebook in CSV or Excel spreadsheet format, perfect for backing up your gradebook on another system for redundancy purposes.
