How was rocky mountains formed?
the Rocky Mountains were formed in the same way every other mountain range was formed, by the collision of tectonic plates. In this case it was the North American plate and the Pacific plate. When they collided rock on each side was forced upwards or downwards. So rocks came up out of the ground on the west side of the North American Plate.
