Let me say first that based on your reactions to NORMAL Border Collie behavior, I don't think you should get one. You don't "train" instinct. Instinct is just there, period. Yes they will nip and attempt to herd. The only way you can change this behavior is with TONS of regular training. I mean you had better plan to spend 2 hours a day with the dog, for every day of that dogs life, in training. A bored Border Collie is a problem Border Collie. It takes a LOT of work and training for a BC to be able to be a successful pet in the city. Based on your views here, a Border Collie is not the right breed for you. I suggest you do some research of other breeds and find one more suitable to your lifestyle.  more
