How well does the Floormate clean as compared to a mop?
The Floormate cleans floors dramatically better and faster than a mop. Cleaning up the dirty water with a mop is incremental. Each pass removes a bit more dirt but the floor will never become completely clean. This is important if a pet should make a “mistake” on the floor. All residual odors must be totally removed so that the pet will not sniff around and assume the floor is a convenient bathroom. Example: I was home-brewing beer and the 5-gallon glass jar broke spilling the thick sugary mixture all over the floor. I spent the better part of a day with a mop and pail until the floor was no longer sticky. The Floormate would have reduced this chore to an hour or two. Also, consider the cost of mops and sponges. They are cheaply made and often need replacement. This adds up. Can I use a mop and my wet/dry shop vac and save money? Yes.
