How well does the Stikfas plastic tolerate the heat needed to bake or boil the sculpey?

My first custom was done entirely with Sculpey III and the boiling technique. As long as you only boil the Stikfas/Sculpey part for about 1 minute in boiling water you will not have any problems with the plastic melting. However, if you boil the water on a stove top, it is best to pour the water into another pan before dropping the Stikas part into it. If the plastic sinks and stays in contact with the bottom of a metal pan that is being heated it can melt the plastic. If you boil the part too long there may be some warping of the plastic. My own technique is to fill a mug with water, drop the Stikfas/Sculpey part into it and then put it into the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. This boils the water quickly and hardens the Sculpey quite well. Once the time is up, carefully pour the water and part into an empty metal pan and slowly run cool water into it to cool your part. DO NOT put cool water directly into your mug of hot water, or the mug may shatter! Overall, the boiling metho
