FROG is used in over 100 labs worldwide and has been available for over a decade. It’s therefore much more established than SPIDER, which is used in only a few labs, mainly in Europe, and for only a couple of years. There are many issues with SPIDER due to its complexity and alignment sensitivity, and these are not well understood, so problems can arise in SPIDER that no one yet knows.
