The RFP lists no asking price, and brokers wouldn’t guess what the complicated property might sell for. “It’s a real jigsaw puzzle,” said one broker. “It’ll get whatever someone is willing to pay.” Keebler, the country’s second-largest cookie manufacturer after the Nabisco Co. and based in suburban Chicago, made saltine and cheese-flavored crackers, shortbread cookies and its Nutrigrain breakfast bars most recently at the plant. It opened in 1962.
