How will open-access costs be met?
10.1 The MRC will pay author pays (article process) charges where these have been included under Directly Incurred Costs on grant proposals and where these costs fall within the period of the grant. Anticipated future publication costs (Author Pays charges) should be part of an institutions indirect costs under the full economic costing regime. 10.2 MRC institutes and units are already fully funded, and are expected to meet such costs out of their existing budgets. 10.3 Other UK PubMed Central funders may have slightly different funding policies.
