How will the City of Santa Clara benefit from a new stadium?
Economic Impact Reports show that a new stadium will bring hundreds of new jobs to the city and tens of millions of dollars in total economic impact along with hundreds of thousands of dollars in new annual tax revenue. The City will benefit from significant ground rent and performance rent paid annually by the stadium Authority totaling tens of millions of dollars over the term of the lease. Other benefits include tens of millions in increased funding to local schools, up to $250,000 in new annual funding for senior and youth programs, and nearly 110,000 square feet of meeting space that can be used by the Santa Clara’s convention center to attract premiere events. Of course, the City also benefits from tremendous national media exposure as home of the 49ers.
