To address any potential impact of the prohibition against payment for sperm or egg donations, Health Canada commissioned an analysis, recently completed, of strategies implemented in other countries to promote altruistic sperm/egg donations.As a follow-up to this analysis, Health Canada intends to support a pilot project to engage the AHR sector in exploring altruistic sperm/egg donation recruitment strategies for Canada. The government would not participate directly in donor recruitment campaigns.
