Under the new rule, holders of existing grants will have the option of paying either 1) for the entire term of the grant, or 2) at 10-year intervals. There is an exception for individuals, however. Individuals whose rent is more than $100 per year may either continue to pay annually, or may optionally pay at multi-year intervals. Holders will be offered these options on their next billing cycle, but the new options will not become mandatory for holders of existing authorizations until January 2009.
