How will the new rule affect the rent payment periods on my existing ROW grant? I am currently on a 5-year payment schedule – will I have to convert to a 10-year or other term immediately?
Under the new rule, holders of existing grants will have the option of paying either 1) for the entire term of the grant, or 2) at 10-year intervals. There is an exception for individuals, however. Individuals whose rent is more than $100 per year may either continue to pay annually, or may optionally pay at multi-year intervals. Holders will be offered these options on their next billing cycle, but the new options will not become mandatory for holders of existing authorizations until January 2009.
