How will the terminal or PC communicate with Bank of America?

0

All of our terminal and software programs require a single analog telephone line, with a standard modular telephone jack. These products dial local or toll free numbers to connect to our host for transaction processing, and will only access your telephone line when a transaction is being processed. Typically, a terminal will take 8–12 seconds to connect to the host, transmit transaction data, and receive an authorization or decline message. It is recommended that you install a dedicated line for your credit card terminal or software. However, if your are not expecting a high volume of activity, terminals can also be connected to the same telephone line as your fax machine, without interfering with its operation. If you are unsure whether or not your phone system meets these requirements, please contact your local Telephone Company or Bank of America Merchant Services Customer Service.
