How would groundwater be used?
Groundwater would be used for both regular and emergency purposes. For regular use, groundwater would be blended in small quantities with imported surface water before entering the municipal drinking water system for distribution to areas in both the eastern and western parts of the City. [See question below regarding emergency use of groundwater.] The project would provide a new, local source of water to supplement the imported water supply and improve reliability of the municipal water system.
