How would i break in new ice skates?
Hi! I’m so happy that your giving skating a try! Well, to answer your first question, since those boots are in the beginning skater category, there is virtually no break in time. This means that the boots are already pretty soft, so it won’t be painful at all while “breaking them in”. I got the Blue Ribbon and had no issues except for them being a little stiff. To solve that problem just put on your blade covers and walk around the house in them. It “breaks them in” and you get used to the feeling. The first time you skate in them it will feel pretty awkward but after that it is fine. For lessons, make sure you wear a pair of sweatpants, long sleeved shirt, and a light sweatshirt. If you get cold easy you can wear a pair of tights under the pants and a heavier sweater. layers are also a great thing for skating because you can take them on and off how you please.
