How would the croupier or the blackjack dealer respond to an automatic card shuffling device?
Mr. Yoseloff: At first there was some resistance, but at this point shufflers are an accepted piece of equipment in the casinos. In fact, anecdotally, my nephew recently started dealing in one of the casinos in Las Vegas, and when he went to dealer school he was not taught to hand-shuffle multiple decks. He was only taught to use our shufflers to shuffle those decks. In 10 years shufflers have gone from a novelty to a well accepted staple in the industry with virtually no dealer resistance at this point.
