CAF stands for Common Assessment Framework and it standardises the approach to conducting assessments for children with additional needs, which are not being met by universal services, to help the child and their family. The CAF form has 3 elements 1) A simple pre-assessment checklist 2) A process for undertaking a common assessment 3) A standard form Training is available through the Norfolk County Council Workforce Development Team 01603 222900 and details are in the Training Directory 2009/10 page 65.
