I am a non-certified employee (teacher assistant, custodian, caf, etc.). If I get a year of experience does this mean I get the increase of $625 plus a step increase?

A2: No. The budget bill passed by the legislature provides for a $625 increase only (see excerpt of budget bill at the bottom of this page). For example, a teacher assistant at 15 years experience last year (2000-01 earned $1,621 per month (10 pay, 7.5hrs per day). For 2001-02 they would be at 16 years experience and earn $1,684. This was computed as follows: $1,621 X 10 = $16,210 annual salary for 2000-01. Add $625 legislative increase = $16,835 annual for 2001-02. Divide by 10 for monthly of $1,684. This works the same for all full-time non-certified employees.
