Your husband will automatically be recognised as the father of the child, unless he explicitly states that he does not consent to your treatment. If you have treatment using donor sperm or embryos created with donor sperm and your husband has explicitly stated that he does not consent to your treatment, he will not be the father of the child. The child will have no legal father. The new parenthood law only applies to patients whose donor insemination or embryo transfer takes place on or after 6th April.
