I currently have a teaching degree but want to be able to add a “Health & Fitness” supporting area endorsement. What do you offer?
CWU does offer a supporting area endorsement in Health & Fitness. It consists of 43 credits. The PE classes required as part of this supporting area – similar to the PE major – are only offered in a specific sequence. You should be aware that several of the classes are only offered on campus and would require attendance during the day in at least three different quarters. Unfortunately, if you are unable to attend classes during the school year you will not be able to pursue a Health & Fitness endorsement through CWU. It might be helpful to understand that one reason why we are unable to offer these classes in the summer or online is because of enrollment expectations. We can’t offer classes with only a few students for obvious financial reasons. At this time we are not aware of other state schools that offer the supporting area endorsement other than through the typical residential program.
