I get just infested with vine borers …I spray rotengen(sp) and still I end up cutting them out by the dozens in the vine…it basically stops all growth of the pumpkin…even when covering the vines with dirt. Is there a better way?

Try Methoxychlor each week in June and July. During times of heavy infestation, spray every 5 days and after heavy rain or watering. Rotenone is not as potent a killer as Methoxychlor.
