I have a 94 or 95 GM or Ford, but it has the OBD-II connector on it. What is the deal?
Each manufacturer has a set of vehicles it implemented as OBD-II prior to 1996. These vehicles were used to test the systems in preparation for OBD-II. A list of these vehicles is found below: GM: 94-95 Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, and 94 and 95 3.8 Liter Engine vehicles, and 1995 S-10 pickup, have the 16 pin connector but are not equipped with OBD-II. These vehicles can be scanned with an OBD-I GM specific scanner or the Pro Pack by configuring normally (make, vin and model year) and using the AutoXray Mfg. Specific 16 pin connector (Blue). 1995 Blazer and Jimmy 4.3 Liter Vin W was GM’s first OBD-II platform vehicle and must use the OBD-II scanner or the Pro Pack and the Green OBD-II cable. The scanner must be configured as Generic OBD-II. Ford: Ford implemented OBD-II on some 94 and all 95 Windstar vans, some 94 and 95 Mustangs and htunderbirds with the 5.0 Liter Engine. These vehicles can be scanned with the OBD-II scanner or Pro Pack and the green OBD-II cable. Chrysler: Chrysler im
