I have a Roma style tile roof on a residence that is not on solid sheeting – 1984 vintage – and need to know if this was ever approved to be installed without solid sheeting?

The Roma style was approved for application over open spaced sheathing in 1984 provided that the roof slope was above 3 3/4:12 and the roof was not installed in an area subject to ice and snow build-up or hurricanes.
