To view the on-screen menus, first make certain that you have made a connection from the Video or S-Video Monitor Out Jack on the rear panel to the composite or S-video input of your TV, OR that you have made a connection from the Component Video Monitor Outputs on the AVR 340 to your TV. If your TV has component video input jacks, you only need to connect those jacks to the AVR 340’s Component Video Monitor Output jacks. Then make sure that you are not using a high-definition (720p or better) video source. The on-screen menus are available when a component video display is in use, but only with 480p video sources. Also, to view the AVR 340’s displays, you will need to select the correct video source on the TV, corresponding to the TV’s video input jack (or jacks) that you connected to the AVR 340’s monitor output (or outputs).
