includes a large amount of Microsoft code that is used to interact with Microsoft data sources. By using Microsoft’s own code Manifold can guarantee that perfect Microsoft compatibility is delivered. Manifold includes an internal copy of Microsoft’s “Jet” database engine that is used to open and access typical Microsoft file types (.mdb, .db, .dbf, .xls, etc) using Microsoft’s own code, but Jet is otherwise not used nor is it the basis of Manifold’s internal DBMS function.
