United Way of Franklin County funds both the Boy Scouts of America, Mason Dixon Council and Boy Scouts of America, Keystone Council, as well as Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. Media attention to other United Way led to misperceptions that we did not support scouting. Every United Way makes decisions within their own community based on the priorities of the people who live there. In our county, scouting, and the values that it teaches are a priority and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.
