I hesitate to keep asking the same faculty members for letters of recommendation. May I submit copy of a letter a professor wrote as a reference for a job or graduate school?

General letters of recommendation are welcome provided they are less than a year old and the recommender is aware that his or her letter is being used. Keep in mind, however, that judges will expect either the nominating letter or one of the letters of recommendation to address the student’s intellectual endeavor in detail.
