As per The Income Tax Act, receipts issued will only cover study periods during each particular taxation (calendar) year. For example, if you purchased and started a 9 month course in September a partial tuition amount from September to December will be assessed on your T2202A. The remainder of your tuition amount will appear on next years tax receipt. If on the other hand you started your 9 month course in April that ended in December, the full amount of your tuition would be claimed on your T2202A.
