Many VSAs clearly state that they take an inclusive approach to recruitment. In other words, you won’t be discriminated against because you are from a rural community or because you have limited cross-cultural experience—or indeed for any other reason. What is important is your attitude and approach to life. If you are open-minded, sensitive and respectful in your approach to others, that counts for more than whether you have first-hand experience of cultures other than your own.
