There are some tax deductions for home improvment related to energy rebates. Some hurricane shutters have energy ratings. Impact glass windows have energy ratings. If you were had taken advantage of the recent MSFH program then you may use this tax advantage. Florida often has tax rebates every hurricane season for shutters. Florida decided or voted against tax deductions this year. Maybe next year they will bring them back. Write your local government to request MSFH and hurricane tax program continue.  more
