Go to the lowest level, if you don`t have access to the basement, go to the ground floor. If there is a closet or restroom seek shelter there, otherwise stay in center hallway away from windows. The more walls between you and the outside the better. Flooding is not your immediate concern as heavy downpours do not usually occur during a tornado, hail is more likely to fall than rain.

The best way I would assume would to hide in the closet if you don’t have too much junk in there. In the event a tornado suddenly hit, I doubt you’d have time to cover yourself in the tub with a mattress. Even if you had enough time, it wouldn’t be safe because stuff might fall on top of it, and it could be too heavy to lift, and you’d suffocate to death.

Tall building are much more secure than homes when it comes to Tornado….Even for a category F5 tornado Just stay away from the windows, find a hallway or bathroom with no window, and you will be fine first floor can be subject to floating if you live near a body of water..So stay in the upper floor

It’s always safer to be at a lower elevation while there is a tornado, so I’d go with the first floor.

Its best to get to a place that has an basement, if not than seek a bath tub on the 1st floor.
