I noticed that your Extra Strong & Hard and Extra Care Long & Shiny products contain formaldehyde. Can these products be harmful to one’s health?
Formaldehyde is a component that has been fully accepted by the European Community as an instant hardener for the surface layers of the nail, provided it is used at a percentage equal to or less than 5%, calculated in Formic aldehyde (reference to Directive 2007/17/EC). Our Extra Strong & Hard and Extra Care Long & Shiny products fall perfectly within this range, consequently their use is absolutely safe as long as they are properly applied to the nail, being careful to avoid the cuticles and protecting the skin with a fatty substance. In case you prefer to use a formaldehyde-free product, we recommend that you turn to our White Strong & Shiny product, which combines nail strengthening and whitening performances without using formaldehyde. – Do KIKO products have an expiration date?
