I really like the design program at my high school and I am interested in designing new homes. What will help me get a job as a designer with a homebuilder?
One of the things that designers have told me is that it is really important that new designers have some practical experiences with construction. Being able to draw new designs is one thing but being able to construct these designs is another. I believe that having real construction experience will help you better understand the detailing necessary for building new home designs.
