This usually happens under several circumstances. Most important circumstance is the fact that you are paying for a very big sum - usually this is a sum of above 1,000$. CCNow then will require you to photocopy your credit card front and back, sign the sheet of paper and fax them back the copy to the fax No. they provided you with. This is extremely safe procedure, so there should not be any reason for you to worry about. Yet another circumstance calling for a Manual Authorization procedure may be the fact that you entered an incorrect billing address, or you placed another address than the billing address of your credit card. Other problems causing a Manual Authorization request are situations, when you want to pay with someone else's card from your family - like your wife, or son or other relative, i.e. you put your name correct, but the card details show, that you are not the exact owner of the card.
