I submitted a complaint to FPS regarding an unsolicited fax I received despite being registered with FPS for more than 28 days. What action have you taken?
All complaints received will be acknowledged and processed by our complaint’s team. We will write to the organisation involved requesting an explanation of why it has sent an unsolicited fax to a FPS registered number and ask them to remove the number from their fax lists. As the FPS have no enforcement powers, we will pass all the complaints received over to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), who are the UK independent supervisory authority reporting directly to the UK Parliament and responsible for enforcing the relevant regulations. It is the ICO’s responsibility to look at non-compliant organisations and take appropriate action. If you wish to follow up on a complaint you have made, please contact the ICO directly. Their details can be found under the useful links section of the website.
