I think I implemented my checkerboard shader correctly, but when I shade the teapot, it looks distorted! What am I doing wrong?
Perhaps nothing. Think of a taking a 3D cookie cutter to an infinite stack of alternating gray and brown cubes. If your object is curved, you might see what look to be rings. And if you lop off the corners of cubes, you might see triangles instead of squares. If you reduce the number of cubes and shade the sphere, you might be able to visualize what things are supposed to look like. This might help you understand whether or not what you are seeing is correct.
