Lanolin alcohol is a purified derivative of lanolin. It retains the moisturizing properties of lanolin; however, because natural impurities are removed, lanolin alcohol has a much lower potential for irritation than lanolin does. The lanolin alcohol used in Eucerin and Aquaphor products must meet extremely strict quality and purity standards. Further, all Eucerin and Aquaphor products are clinically proven non-irritating for sensitive skin. However, if you are concerned about lanolin, we suggest that you consult your dermatologist before using any product you haven’t used in the past.
