It happens. Not often, but it happens. If you’re studying English, homestay is highly recommended, because you’ll probably learn as much English in your homestay as you do in your course. And compared with other accommodation options, it’s by far the most economical. Most Australian homestay families have a student staying with them because they like it and enjoy the company. They can hardly do it for the money: after they’ve paid for the student’s three meals a day, there isn’t much left.
