I turned on the the shading of date/time fields but yet my dates are not automatically shaded?

You can enter a date or time as either a VALUE or a FIELD. A value means that the date/time you enter is the date/time you will always see. A field means that the date/time will change depending on the current date/time. The difference between entering the date/time as a field or value is the check box: Update Automatically. When you enter the date/time (Click on “Insert” in menu bar, then click on “Date and Time …”) just check that box to make it a field, which is shown in the bottom right of that dialog box. If you turned on automatic shading for all your dates/times, but yet some of them are not shaded, it’s probably because you entered the date/time as a value, and not as a field. Go back and re-insert the date/time. Once you select the format of the date/time, make sure and click the Update Automatically box.
