I waived the Student Health Insurance Plan, but have recently lost my insurance coverage. Can I still enroll in the student insurance plan?
Yes, a student may still enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan, but the premium charge will not be prorated for late enrollment. A student must report the change in insurance coverage in the Student Center component of Access.SMU by selecting the Health Center button, then select the term in which the changes need to be made and enter the date their policy will terminate. The Insurance Coordinator will be notified of the termination of coverage. After reporting the change in coverage, a student may contact Krista Pruitt, the Insurance Coordinator at studenthealthinsurance@smu.edu to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan.
