I want to connect a DigiBeta Deck and a Beta Deck to the AJA IO. Can I connect both decks directly to the AJA IO or does the Beta Deck need to be daisy-chained thru the DigiBeta?

In regards to the video and audio connections, yes. In regards to RS422: the Io only has one RS422 connector therefore you need to exchange RS422 cables anytime you switch decks. One workaround is to use the Keyspan USA-28x USB to twin RS422 adapter. That way you can dedicate a serial port to each deck. The Keyspan has been qualified with the Io.
