HI, there are only one or two flights in the day from Beijing to Lhasa, you need to make your plan quite early in advance, and very important is a travel permit is strictly request for foreigners traveling to Tibet. I am China based and traveled to Lhasa with friends from US in last July. We intended to book flights online but it took us quite a long time to find the right direction. We sought out the best discount rate on internet and called the agent back, we were told it has been sold and we had to book the higher ticket… As we need to apply the travel permit, we went to a local agent who had local office in Tibet. We applied the permit with them and happened to recognize that the agent just offered discount flight online, we purchased our return flights online with 24% off and got our E-tickets by e-mail in one hour!
