If a pensioner marries after age 60 will the survivor be eligible for survivor benefits?

0

The survivor may be eligible to the SDB, if designated as the beneficiary to the plan. However, the survivor would not be entitled to an annual allowance, unless the pensioner elected, within one year of marriage, to accept a reduction to his/her pension in order to provide a survivors’ benefit for his/her spouse.
