85% of couples who have regular sexual intercourse become pregnant within a year. If there is no precedent which could lead to a possible problem (ovarian or testicular surgery, chemotherapy, etc.), it is advisable to seek medical advice after one year of having sex without contraceptive protection. For women older than 37-38, it is recommended to go and see a doctor after 6 months of trying as the ovarian reserve decreases as the woman gets older.  more
