We recommend sealing the connectors with an adhesive-lined heat shrink. In our tests, this heat shrink has remained sealed through 6 months of freeze/thaw tests with no sign of wear. Digi-Key Corporation www.digikey.com is a good place to order the heat shrink online. The 3M part number we recommend is: EPS-200 3/4″ BL48″BX (Digi-Key # EPS2034-ND). The heat shrink requires about 120°C to melt, so sealing the connections should be done where a heat gun and 120 V AC power are available.
