Although everyone feels differently about how much information they want to share, it’s very important that your child’s counselor know the circumstances and has a release to talk with therapists or other providers about diagnosis and treatment. Information exchanged with providers and your child’s counselor is held in confidence and can help form a team with school, home and provider. The student and their family decide what information, if any, they would like the counselor to share with teachers.
