Yes. Charles is next in line for the throne as the eldest son and bearer of the title Prince of Wales, which is given only to the heir apparent. It has been decided that Camilla won’t become queen – some ridiculous nod to all the Dianaphiles, I suppose. She may take the title of Princess Consort, like the Duke of Edinburgh is Prince Consort. The divorce of Prince Charles and Diana meant that Diana could never become Queen but constitutional experts in 1995 did not see this as being any impediment to Prince Charles ascending to the throne on his mother’s death or abdication.
