If SECURITRE is installed, will it replace the NATURAL Security System (NSS) from Software AG and allow us to bypass the NSS menus?
With SECURITRE for NATURAL installed, it is possible to eliminate NSS completely from the site’s environment as far as security checks are concerned. SECURITRE will check to ensure that each user’s attempts to initiate a NATURAL session, logon to a library, examine/modify a program, access a DDM, etc. are all verified with the System Security Facility (RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret). In fact, SECURITRE includes (at no additional charge) a NATURAL Security Conversion Facility, which can assist the site in configuring SECURITRE for NATURAL. On the other hand, if the site wishes to continue to use NSS to control NATURAL instead of (or in addition to) SECURITRE, it may do so. If the site wishes to use SECURITRE for its NATURAL access controls, and NSS for its various other functions (e.g., mailboxes, report size limits, etc.), this is also possible. The site can activate SECURITRE security checking, deactivate the equivalent NSS security checking, and leave all other NSS functions in operation
