If the bond lasts for 24 years and as indicated a road reconstruction lasts approximately 20 years, what is the plan since the bond will outlast a road life span?
While the average life expectancy of a reconstructed street is twenty years that is an average. Given the majority of streets in Clawson are not considered major streets, they would see a less than average wear. In addition, the City intends to use new technologies in its reconstruction of our major streets to meet an “all weather” designation. That standard should give us a greater than average life expectancy on our major streets. Finally, we will maintain an aggressive street maintenance program to better ensure a longer life expectancy for all streets in the City.
