Im a vegetarian – can I take Chia?
Of course. Chia is 100% natural, with no chemical additives or genetic manipulation; it is not transgenic. In a vegetarian diet, nuts and seeds contribute the vital aminoacid content and complement the intake of cereals and legumes, in order to have a complete nutritional diet including all required nutrients. Chia is a good quality protein source: it has 4,3 gr of protein per 25 gr of seeds. In addition, it has minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, potassium, and also antioxidants (see nutritional information); all which indicates the importance of considering the inclusion of this non-traditional source in the normal vegetarian diet as a food complement.
